"I am a recent graduate of Indiana University Southeast. My boyfriend and I recently moved to Canaan. We do not have any children but do have 2 German Shepherds that we do consider our babies. I have worked as a waitress for the last 9 years at 3 different local restaurants in Madison to support myself while in high school and college. I finished my practicum from IUS and student taught Kindergarten at Jefferson Craig Elementary School in Vevay. After finishing student teaching, I was a substitute at JCES for 6 weeks then became an aide for Special Services Unit and worked with students ages ranging from Kindergarten-6th grade. In my spare time I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, and keeping up with AMC's The Walking Dead"

Elizabeth Houchen - Kindergarten

Jessica Fennig - Fifth Grade/Sixth Grade

Mrs. Fennig holds an education degree from Ball State University. She also holds a computer teaching license. She taught at Canaan Community Academy for several years before taking a hiatus from teaching. The CCA community is thrilled to have her return this year as a full-time classroom teacher. Mrs. Fennig resides in Jefferson County with her family.

 

Teresa Stucker - Fourth Grade
"Hello! My name is Ms. Teresa Stucker. I am excited about joining the faculty at CCA.  This will be my 19th year in the classroom, with most of my experience in 4th grade.  I just love the 4th grade curriculum.  Indiana History is my favorite subject.  However, I also enjoy Reading.  
     Jefferson County has always been my home, and I am a graduate of Southwestern High School.  I received my Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Elementary Education from Indiana University Southeast.  
     Currently, I live in Hanover with my two furry 'grandkitties', Paige and Gabriel.  Their mommy, my daughter Elizabeth, is a recent graduate of Marian University. She has been completing internships at zoos in Ohio. 
     I am looking forward to this school year. Catch the Spirit! It's going to be a great year!"

Tova Lentz - Third Grade
Tova Lentz graduated from Bellarmine University, where she studied elementary and special education. She taught second grade for two years before moving to Indiana. She is believes in developing strong minds and hearts alike. She enjoys hiking, reading, and Simon and Garfunkel.

​​Danielle Messer - Second Grade

Danielle currently lives in Cross Plains, Indiana. She has lived there for several years. She always knew that she wanted to work with children growing up. She loves to help people and quickly decided that she wanted to go to college for teaching. She completed her student teaching in 2nd Grade at Jefferson Craig Elementary School. She received her elementary education degree from Indiana University Southeast in May of 2016. She is especially passionate about the importance of teaching students in an engaging way. She is eager to meet her students and interact with parents. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and fishing.

Angela Hutchinson - First Grade

     My name is Angela Hutchinson. I am a native of Pleasant, Indiana, but currently reside in Hanover.  I am married with six children, a grandson, and another grandchild on the way. My hobbies include painting, gardening, reading, and playing with my grandson. In 2012, our family was selected to build a house through Habitat for Humanity. Now, my husband and I are active construction coordinators with this affiliate to help other families with housing needs.
     Before pursuing my education as a teacher, I was a preschool teacher at Little Diddle Daycare and Preschool for 8 years. I enjoyed teaching the younger children, but I wanted to become more engaged with older children. I completed my bachelor’s degree at Indiana University Southeast May 9, 2016 through the new program at Ivy Tech Community College campus. My graduating status was a 4.0 GPA with highest distinction.
     During my student teaching, I taught at Deputy Elementary. I loved the small community and family feeling at this school. So, I am ecstatic to be teaching first grade at Canaan Community Academy and looking forward to meeting the you this fall.

 

Tiffany Taylor - Resource Teacher

"I have spent the past five and a half years teaching first grade students in a special education classroom. I graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 2009 and I am licensed to teach Elementary Education and Special Education. When I am not teaching, my time is spent with my husband and our three dogs. We enjoy camping and hiking in National Parks across the country."
